Basketball Recap: Elijah Drummond Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Russell County

McDonough posted their closest win since February 1st on Saturday. They skirted past the Russell County Warriors 62-59.

McDonough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Drummond led the charge by putting up 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Drummond a new career-high in rebounds (four). Another player making a difference was Ken'Ten Williams, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

The victory got McDonough back to even at 1-1. As for Russell County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

McDonough will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on New Manchester at 2:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Russell County, they will be playing at home against Chattahoochee County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
