Softball Recap: LaBrae Takes a Loss

After flying high against Crestview on Thursday, LaBrae came back down to earth. The Vikings lost 12-2 to the Champion Golden Flashes on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Flashes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

LaBrae saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shelby Bragg, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

LaBrae has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-5 record this season. As for Champion, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, LaBrae will head out on the road to take on Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Champion, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 win against Canfield on the 10th.
