 Tug Valley got themselves on the board against St. Joseph Central on Tuesday, but St. Joseph Central never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-0  win over the St. Joseph Central Irish. This was payback for Tug Valley, who suffered  an  8-3  defeat the last time these two teams met.
  Conner Lackey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered  just zero earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Ashton Smith was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 Tug Valley is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record  this season. As for St. Joseph Central, they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tug Valley will  take on Logan at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for St. Joseph Central, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Calhoun at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
