Recap: North Moore Mustangs vs. Father Capodanno Grunts
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southeast Alamance, the North Moore Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Monday. They secured a 43-38 W over Father Capodanno.
North Moore got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Calissa Clendenin out in front who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Clendenin has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Zeikierra Young was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Father Capodanno lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julie Attar. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. That was a full 52.6% of Father Capodanno's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
North Moore's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Father Capodanno, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Moore will challenge Jordan-Matthews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Father Capodanno, they will head out on the road to face off against Lee Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Christian is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
