Volleyball Recap: Calvert Beats Liberty-Benton for Their 20th Straight Victory

Calvert extended their winning streak to 20 on Tuesday, bumping them up to 20-0. They blew past the Liberty-Benton Eagles 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Senecas also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Bella Borgio paced Calvert's offense, picking up 12 kills. Borgio got some help from Bryn Dircksen and her 27 assists. Claire Schoenberger controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Liberty-Benton, their record is now 15-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since October 3, 2024.

Maddy Amstutz and Evelyn Ricker certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Amstutz had 15 digs and one assist, while Ricker had 18 assists and four digs. Amstutz has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Looking ahead, Calvert will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lakota at 7:00 p.m. As for Liberty-Benton, they will head out on the road to square off against Pandora-Gilboa at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
