Baseball Recap: Oshkosh West Comes Up Short

Oshkosh West made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Appleton North, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lightning by a score of 7-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since May 23, 2025.

Oshkosh West's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Appleton North, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oshkosh West will challenge rival Appleton West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Appleton North is set to take on their familiar foe Kaukauna at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lightning 4.1, the Galloping Ghosts 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
