Two dominant signal callers in Luke Glass and Pierce Jacobson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Prestonwood Christian Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Thomas Catholic Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Prestonwood Christian took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Trinity Christian to the tune of 63-14. With the Lions ahead 56-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Prestonwood Christian found their leader in sophomore Glass, who threw for 278 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns. William Taylor was another key player, rushing for 99 yards and one score on only 14 carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Prestonwood Christian proved: they limited Trinity Christian to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. Prestonwood Christian's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.72 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 6.23 on average over their last five games.

St. Thomas Catholic's win came from a few key players Prestonwood Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nate Tidwell, who picked up 164 receiving yards and three TDs. Those three receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Stewart, who rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.
St. Thomas Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Prestonwood Christian, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Prestonwood Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like St. Thomas Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 174.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Prestonwood Christian came up short against St. Thomas Catholic in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 73-62. Thankfully for the Lions, Johann Cardenas (who rushed for 459 yards and seven scores while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
