Basketball Recap: Lewistown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lewistown walked away with it. They came out on top against the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats by a score of 37-28 on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won four games in a row.

Lewistown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joley McLaughlin, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points and five rebounds. What's more, McLaughlin also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Braun, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Lewistown pushed their record up to 14-17 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
