Softball Game Preview: Central Columbia Bluejays vs. Loyalsock Township Lancers

The Central Columbia Bluejays will face off against the Loyalsock Township Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Central Columbia is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 27 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mifflinburg on Thursday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Loyalsock Township, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Montoursville 8-7.

Loyalsock Township pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Central Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Central Columbia was able to grind out a solid win over Loyalsock Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2022, winning 6-2. Do the Bluejays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
