Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Grand Junction Tigers
Eagle Valley lost against Grand Junction back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagle Valley Devils took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Junction Tigers.
Several Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zakia Shreeve, who posted nine points and four steals. Shreeve has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Talbot, who earned five points.

Even though they lost, Eagle Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Eagle Valley will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Palisade at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Grand Junction and Basalt will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Grand Junction has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
