Football Recap: Redmond Find Success + How To Watch

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Redmond ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 35-28 win over the Mercer Island Islanders. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 56-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Redmond can attribute much of their success to Luka Kukoleca, who rushed for 76 yards and three scores, and also threw for 142 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Kukoleca a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Mercer Island still got an impressive performance from Luke Christofferson, who threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jonah Gonder, who gained 131 total yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Redmond and bumps their season record up to 3-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.5 points over those games. As for Mercer Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Redmond didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-0 loss against Mount Si on the 31st. As for Mercer Island, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 48-0 defeat against Liberty on the 30th.
