Basketball Game Preview: Bloomfield Cardinals vs. Clay City Eels

The Bloomfield Cardinals will take on the Clay City Eels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bloomfield comes in on four and Clay City on seven.

Bloomfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shakamak, sneaking past 61-58. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Lakers are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clay City was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Lighthouse Christian Academy 73-39. The Eels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Clay City's victory bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Bloomfield, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Bloomfield came up short against Clay City in their previous meeting back in January, falling 68-64. Can Bloomfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
