Volleyball Recap: Potosi Trojans vs. Central Rebels
Potosi won the last time they faced Central and Macyn Mccarthy did her part to make sure it happened again. The Potosi Trojans were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Central Rebels on Wednesday thanks in part to Mccarthy, who had 12 digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.
While Potosi won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.
Their offense was headlined by
Ava Robart and
Eden Robart, who picked up 19 kills apiece. They got some help from
Carsyn Yount and her 35 assists.
Potosi's win bumped their record up to 22-9-1. As for Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-17-1 record.
Potosi is on the road again on Tuesday to play Ste. Genevieve at 6:30 p.m. Ste. Genevieve will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Potosi surely won't give up without a fight. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
