Volleyball Recap: Sandia Prep Takes a Loss

Sandia Prep suffered their biggest loss since August 28th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the St. Pius X Sartans. The Sundevils haven't had much luck with the Sartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-4, 25-9.

St. Pius X was led to victory by Sierra Sanchez and Maya Perea. Sanchez had 22 assists, while Perea had ten digs and four assists. That's the most assists Sanchez has posted since back in September.

Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for St. Pius X, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3.

Sandia Prep and St. Pius X should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings. The Sundevils (ranked 32nd) will meet Bosque (ranked 86th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Pius X will take on Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 134).
