Recap: Quinter Bulldogs vs. Wallace County Wildcats

The Quinter Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Wallace County 50-33. That's another feather in the cap for Quinter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Quinter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Gruenbacher, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gruenbacher has scored all season. Kahne Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.

Quinter's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Wallace County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quinter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dighton at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Dighton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Quinter likes a good challenge. As for Wallace County, they will head out on the road to square off against Triplains/Brewster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Triplains/Brewster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Friday.
