Basketball Recap: Colville Takes a Loss

Colville lost against Riverside back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Colville Crimson Hawks had to suffer through a 81-44 loss at the hands of the Riverside Rams. While losing is never fun, the Crimson Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Rams are ranked 64th).

Several Crimson Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mckavry Maddox, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points. Braden Dunham was another key player, putting up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for Colville and nudges their season record down to 7-11. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-8 Lakeside (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.8% over those games). As for Riverside, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Colville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-52 loss against Medical Lake on the 4th. As for Riverside, they have also already played their next match, a 68-43 victory against Lakeside on the 4th.
