Basketball Recap: Clinton Christian Academy Beats Heartland for Their Third Straight Win

Clinton Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Heartland Mustangs 47-45. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-42 on January 3rd.

Clinton Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raymond Hood led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Hood is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. Parker Lowe was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight steals.

Clinton Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Heartland, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Clinton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bethel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
