Baseball Recap: Madera South Comes Up Short

Madera South came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to the Sunnyside Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 two weeks ago.

Madera South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erick Soza, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Victor Palomino also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Madera South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Sunnyside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

While Madera South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
