Volleyball Recap: Sacramento Dragons vs. Vanden Vikings
Sacramento was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Vanden Vikings, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
The final score came out to 25-5, 25-12, 25-11.
Vanden can attribute much of their success to Kyle Yabut, who had six aces and three digs. That's the most aces Yabut has posted over his last seven matches. Jonah Victorio was another key player, getting 14 assists and three aces.
Sacramento's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Vanden, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacramento will face off against Rodriguez at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sacramento is facing Rodriguez at the right time seeing as Rodriguez is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vanden, they will challenge Del Oro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
