Baseball Game Preview: Pittsfield Saukees vs. Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers

Pittsfield has won 15 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Greenfield/Northwestern has won 15 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Pittsfield Saukees will welcome the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Pittsfield will be strutting in after a victory while Greenfield/Northwestern will be coming in after a loss.

Pittsfield's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Hamilton/Warsaw as Pittsfield made off with a 15-0 win.

Pittsfield got a big performance out of Carter Frazier, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave Frazier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gratton, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Greenfield/Northwestern fell victim to Roxana and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Shells by a score of 1-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Shells recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Everything went Pittsfield's way against Greenfield/Northwestern when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Pittsfield made off with a 7-0 victory. Will Pittsfield repeat their success, or does Greenfield/Northwestern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
