Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. Hillcrest

The Greenwood Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Hillcrest Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was T.L. Hanna who was credited with the victory on Friday. The Yellow Jackets got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Greenwood's two.

Hillcrest fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Mauldin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 1-0.

Hillcrest has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Greenwood, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

Greenwood skirted past Hillcrest 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
