In what's become a running theme this season, Cuyahoga Heights gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Beachwood 46-23. Given Cuyahoga Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Beachwood is ranked 666th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Trinity, falling 73-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Brooklyn has suffered against Trinity since January 8, 2020.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Brooklyn struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Trinity racked up 16 assists.
Cuyahoga Heights is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Brooklyn, they bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Cuyahoga Heights took their victory against Brooklyn in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 56-32. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Brooklyn's Ashlyn Dyson, who scored 15 points.
