Basketball Game Preview: Maynard Tigers vs. Hoosac Valley Hurricanes

The Maynard Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Maynard comes in on three and Hoosac Valley on 15.

Maynard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down St. John Paul II 47-30.

Meanwhile, Hoosac Valley beat Douglas 52-40 on Friday. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoosac Valley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. As for Maynard, their record is now 16-5.
