Basketball Game Preview: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Hyannis Longhorns

Having just played yesterday, the Sandhills Valley Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Hyannis Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sandhills Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 53-47 W over Cody-Kilgore on Friday.

Meanwhile, Hyannis didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Twin Loup on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 71-65 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Hyannis' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. As for Sandhills Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Sandhills Valley won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, slipping by Hyannis 37-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandhills Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
