Five-star Kansas signee Darryn Peterson goes off for 61 in Prolific Prep's 88-86 win over A.J Dybantsa and Utah Prep

The Crew combo guard hit game-winning 3-pointer with less than 5 seconds remaining.

Five-star Kansas commit Darryn Peterson of Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) made sure the much-hyped Grind Session showdown with A.J. Dybantsa and Utah Prep (Hurricane, Utah) didn't disappoint, going off for 61 points in the 88-86 victory on Saturday in Atlanta.

Peterson, ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2025 according to 247Sports, hit a 3-pointer with less than 5 seconds remaining was the game-winner. The Crew standout added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals as Prolific Prep, No. 8 in the National Top 10, moved to 24-5 on the season.

His 58-point total broke the school record held by Gary Trent Jr. of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Prolific Prep coach Ryan Bernardi told ZAGSBLOG.com "That will go down as one of the best high school games and one of the best high school performances of all time. Great win for us."

Dybantsa, the top-ranked player in the senior class, put up 49 points in the loss for Utah Prep who is No. 9 in the National Top 10.

The two set the stage for Saturday night's showdown with monster performances on Friday as well. Peterson went for 31 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a 72-60 win over Mt. Zion Prep Academy (Lanham, Md.) while Dybantsa dropped 44 in a 96-90 loss to Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.).
