Softball Recap: Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] Takes a Loss

Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Genesee Bulldogs, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce]'s shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Genesee, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Genesee, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Genesee's part, Kendra Meyer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Meyer has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Rylie Baysinger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Makayla Herman was another key player, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

While Lewis County co-op [Highland/Nezperce] had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
