Soccer Recap: Purnell Swett Comes Up Short

Purnell Swett fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lumberton on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Lumberton this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat on October 6th.

Purnell Swett's goal came courtesy of Owen Deese, who's now up to three this season.

Purnell Swett has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11-2 record this season. As for Lumberton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purnell Swett will host Terry Sanford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lumberton, they will be playing at home against Hoke County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
