The DuPont Manual Crimsons will head out on the road to square off against the Butler Bears at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. DuPont Manual is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
DuPont Manual barely beat Fairdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Crimsons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The Crimsons have beaten the Bulldogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.
Lewis Mather and Nick Ballard made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Mather pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ballard struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Mather has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Mather earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base, while Ballard went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Everything went DuPont Manual's way against Butler in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as DuPont Manual made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Crimsons repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
