Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zeke Dabbondanza and Wil Dabbondanza Lead Magruder to Victory

There's no place like home for Magruder, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-42 victory over the Damascus Hornets on Tuesday. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Magruder was led to victory by Wil Dabbondanza and Zeke Dabbondanza. Wil made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 21 points, while Zeke made all 5 shots he took for 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Magruder is 5-1 when Wil posts 15 or more points, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Wertlieb, who posted eight points and five assists.

Magruder pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Damascus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magruder will welcome Sherwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Damascus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Whitman at 6:00 p.m. Whitman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Damascus likes a good challenge.
