Baseball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Takes a Loss

Eastern Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Auburn Eagles, falling 19-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in April.

Eastern Montgomery saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Phoenix, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Eastern Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Auburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Montgomery will square off against Narrows at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Auburn, they will face off against Bland County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
