Volleyball Recap: Lindsay Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Lindsay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wonderful College Prep Academy Lions on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Cardinals, who have now won four matches in a row.

Arianna Medrano paced Lindsay's offense, picking up 11 kills. Medrano got some help from Alyah Ibarra and her 12 assists. Medrano also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sofia Adame, racking up three apiece.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Genesis Ortez, who had 24 digs. Ortez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Valeria Juarez, who had 14 digs.

Lindsay's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Lindsay is taking a road trip to take on Porterville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they will welcome Coalinga at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
