Baseball Recap: Holmdel Takes a Loss

Holmdel entered their contest against Christian Brothers Academy on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets came up short against the Colts, falling 12-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Holmdel's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Christian Brothers Academy, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Coming up, Holmdel will be playing at home against Freehold Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Patriots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they will square off against Red Bank Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
