Softball Game Preview: Randolph County Tigers vs. Wellborn Panthers

Randolph County has gone 9-1 against Wellborn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Randolph County blew Ranburne out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Ranburne got their revenge. The Tigers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 10-8. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Gracie Huckeba was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bryer Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wellborn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saks.

Wellborn's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Randolph County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Randolph County came out on top in a nail-biter against Wellborn in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
