Herscher made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Streator, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 13-3 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Herscher got a massive performance out of Chloe Kinkade, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Addy Whitaker was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Kinkade wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Herscher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Streator only managed six hits.
Herscher pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Streator, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herscher will venture away from home to face off against Watseka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Streator, they will head out to challenge Washington at 4:30 p.m. on the 9th.
