Game recap

After three lead changes, West Orange (N.J.) took the lead for good when Cristian Samusenko kicked a field goal with under a minute left in the fourth quarter and held on to upset East Orange Campus (East Orange, N.J.) 31-30 on Saturday.

The Jaguars pulled ahead on a touchdown run by Shamier Moon, and subsequently went into halftime leading 14-7. The Mountaineers scored the winning points with a field goal by Samusenko that came in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring 14 points in the third, West Orange still trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. But 10 points in the fourth helped WO pull out the victory.

East Orange Campus' Damon Thomas played well. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.

The Mountaineers' standout player in the win was Irvin Paye. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which EOC took, 49-0.

The win was a nice bounce back for West Orange, which lost to Bloomfield last week, 32-7.

West Orange (2-2) goes up against Seton Hall Prep in a Super Essex - American game matchup next week, while East Orange Campus (0-3) locks horns with Columbia also in a Super Essex - American game.
