Carlson is 2-8 against Trenton since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marauders will host the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Carlson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Trenton will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Carlson extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Marauders blew past Anderson 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Addison Skinner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kiley Lewandowski, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Vasas, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.
Carlson lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Trenton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Dexter on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Dreadnaughts: they've now won five in a row.
Analy Guth was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Trenton pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.0 runs this season. As for Carlson, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Carlson hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Trenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Carlson suffered a grim 22-11 defeat to Trenton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
