Football Recap: Winside Wildcats vs. Madison Dragons
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Archangels Catholic, Winside was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Madison Dragons 42-12 on the road. With the Wildcats ahead 28-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Winside found their leader in underclassman Carter Krause, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jahiem Hamik, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Winside's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mace Magwire.
The victory got Winside back to even at 1-1. As for Madison, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
