Football Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. Winfield Generals + How To Watch

The Riverside Warriors will face off against the Winfield Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverside will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Riverside turned things around against South Charleston last Friday. They took down the Black Eagles 31-14.

Among those leading the charge was Tavion Woods, who threw for 115 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Riverside didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited South Charleston to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. The Warriors weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 45%.

Riverside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of John Battle and Auric Booker.

Meanwhile, Winfield came up short against Nitro on Friday and fell 39-28. While the Generals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 7-3 in the first quarter.

Riverside will need to focus on slowing down Drew Mann, one of several Winfield players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 51 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Mann was even better on defense, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles. Aiden Tate got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Winfield's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Mann and Dylan Paxton, who racked up all four sacks between them. Lucas Howell was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making ten total tackles.

Riverside's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Winfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
