Soccer Recap: Independence vs. Vermilion
After flying high against Wellington last Monday, Independence came back down to earth. The Independence Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vermilion Sailors on Thursday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Blue Devils couldn't quite close it out.
Independence has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Vermilion, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9-1.
Independence will head out to square off against Canton Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vermilion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
