Suffern had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.1 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 victory over the Spring Valley Tigers. Given the Mounties' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Tigers are ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Suffern's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Suffern will venture away from home to challenge North Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Suffern's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Spring Valley, they will square off against Clarkstown North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Spring Valley is facing Clarkstown North at the right time seeing as Clarkstown North is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
