Softball Game Preview: James Lick Comets vs. Hill Falcons

James Lick hasn't had much luck against Hill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Comets will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

James Lick had taken San Jose down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Comets lost 17-2 to the Bulldogs. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jada Cruz was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Jocelyn Perez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Independence hit Hill with a six-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons came up short against the 76ers, falling 14-3.

Hill has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for James Lick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
