Baseball Recap: Vassar Takes a Loss

Vassar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Reese Rockets, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vulcans of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Vassar saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Hecht, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Cheven Lesko, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Vassar's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Reese, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1.

Coming up, Vassar will be playing at home against Imlay City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reese, they will head out to challenge Millington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
