Late December is a key stretch for high school basketball programs across the country as elite teams head to holiday tournaments. Here is our look at the 10 best performers from pre- and post-Christmas tournaments (listed alphabetically).
Ryan Anderson, Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, Calif.)6-8 / 215 / Senior / ForwardThe Boston College signee has already been named most valuable player in three tournaments this season, including the National Prep Classic and ESPN/iScore Holiday Classic. He was at his best in the final two rounds of the latter event, tallying 26 points and 10 rebounds against nationally-ranked
Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) and 19 points and 11 boards in the championship victory over
Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.).

Jacoby Brissett, Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.)6-4 / 210 / Senior / GuardAfter leading the Panther football team deep in Florida's 5A state playoffs, Brissett headed to Fort Myers for the City of Palms Classic on just four days practice with the basketball team. He was sensational despite coming off the bench, averaging over 20 points and 10 rebounds per game against elite competition. Following Christmas, Brissett led No. 20 Dwyer to the Kingdom of the Sun tournament title and was named MVP.

Quinn Cook, Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)6-1 / 168 / Senior / GuardCook scored 22 points to lead No. 1 Oak Hill Academy past
Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) in the final of the Iolani Classic, landing him MVP honors. The Washington, D.C., native also had a 13-assist game while in Hawaii.

Michael Gilchrist, St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.)6-7 / 205 / Senior / ForwardGilchrist had a game for the ages in the final of the City of Palms Classic – 25 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots to help No. 2 St. Patrick overcome
Milton (Ga.). The future Kentucky Wildcat wasn't bad in the semifinals either, pouring in a career-high 34 points to go along with 13 rebounds in a win over
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.).

Tony Kimbro Jr., Jeffersontown (Louisville, Ky.)6-5 / 190 / Senior / Guard-ForwardJeffersontown grabbed a lot of attention over the break, winning the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic and its own Gaslight Holiday Classic. Kimbro Jr. was a big part of the Louisville school's success, garnering MVP honors at the King of the Bluegrass after putting up 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Shabazz Muhammad, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.)6-6 / 205 / Junior / GuardMuhammad and Bishop Gorman could be a year away from greatness and gained valuable experience in the City of Palms Classic in Florida and Les Schwab Invitational in Oregon. The Gaels went a combined 5-3 in the two events, and Muhammad was tough to stop on both coasts, averaging 23.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Tony Parker, Miller Grove (Lithonia, Ga.)6-8 / 260 / Junior / ForwardParker was an absolute monster at the Beach Ball Classic in South Carolina, averaging 20.3 points and 19.3 rebounds per game as the Wolverines captured the title. In the semifinals against
Douglass (Oklahoma City, Okla.), the big junior ripped down 27 rebounds.

Katin Reinhardt, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)6-5 / 200 / Junior / GuardThis slot could have just as easily gone to teammate
Xavier Johnson, but Reinhardt emerged as a possible Top 100 junior over the holidays by averaging over 16 points per game at the City of Palms Classic and Orange Holiday Classic. Reinhardt went for 28 points against Austin Rivers and
Winter Park (Fla.) in an 18-point Mater Dei win at the COP.

James Robinson, DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.)6-3 / 180 / Junior / GuardRobinson guided the Stags through a tough, three-night stretch at the Les Schwab Invitational, beating
Westview (Portland, Ore.),
Jesuit (Portland, Ore.) and Bishop Gorman to take the title. Robinson posted 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game en route to MVP honors. Against Jesuit in the semifinals, he connected on 10 of 16 field goals as part of a 26-point performance.

Marcus Smart, Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas)6-3 / 200 / Junior / GuardOne of the nation's elite juniors, Smart averaged 17.7 points per game – including 25 in the championship game – to lead No. 21 Marcus to its second-straight Whataburger Tournament title.
