Basketball Recap: Burke County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Josey last Friday, Burke County came back down to earth. The Burke County Bears were beaten by the Butler Bulldogs 86-55 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bears have suffered since December 27, 2023.

Burke County's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Butler, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.

Burke County will host Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Burke County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups. As for Butler, they will take on Thomson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.
