Basketball Recap: Amory Comes Up Short

Amory lost against Tishomingo County on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Amory Panthers were dealt a 67-23 defeat at the hands of the Tishomingo County Braves. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-13.

Amory has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Tishomingo County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Amory Panthers challenge the Ripley Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amory is facing Ripley at the right time seeing as Ripley is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tishomingo County, they will head out to face off against Itawamba Agricultural at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tishomingo County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Itawamba Agricultural likes a good challenge.
