Preview: Maret Frogs vs. Connelly School of the Holy Child

Maret is 8-0 against Connelly School of the Holy Child since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Maret Frogs will head out on the road to challenge Connelly School of the Holy Child at 4:15 p.m. Connelly School of the Holy Child took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Maret, who comes in off a win.

Maret put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-45 victory over Flint Hill at home. Given Maret's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 14th in District of Columbia, while Flint Hill is ranked 66th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Claire Mathews was nothing short of spectacular: she went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. River Adams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.

Meanwhile, Connelly School of the Holy Child lost to Potomac School on the road by a decisive 64-48 margin on Friday.

Maret's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Connelly School of the Holy Child, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Maret skirted past Connelly School of the Holy Child 56-53 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maret since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
