Preview: South Pontotoc Cougars vs. North Pontotoc Vikings
The South Pontotoc Cougars will be home for the holidays to greet the North Pontotoc Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Pontotoc has three straight wins, North Pontotoc has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
South Pontotoc scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-39 win over Bruce on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win South Pontotoc has managed all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-48, which was the final score in North Pontotoc's tilt against New Albany on Tuesday. North Pontotoc was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-10.
South Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for North Pontotoc, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
