Softball Preview: Cimarron-Memorial Spartans vs. Centennial Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 Cimarron-Memorial is 0-10 against Centennial since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans will be playing at home against the Centennial Bulldogs at 3:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Cimarron-Memorial is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout  on Friday, just like they did against Bonanza (and have done all season long). Cimarron-Memorial's pitcher stepped up to hand Bonanza  an   11-0 shutout  on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Cimarron-Memorial considering their one-run performance the  game before.
  Jasmine Ponce was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and three  RBI while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Mariana Ponce, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Centennial faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Centennial came out on top against Palo Verde by a score of  9-4. The  victory was nothing new for Centennial as they're now sitting on four straight.
  Ashley Madonia was  incredible,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Campbell Cole, who  went 2-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Cimarron-Memorial's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Centennial, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 19-9-1.
 Friday's   match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Cimarron-Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .368. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Cimarron-Memorial might still be hurting after the  11-0 loss they got from Centennial  in their previous matchup  back in March. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  Centennial's  Sloane Merrell, who   kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched.
