Basketball Recap: La Grange Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kylie Trlicek and Campbell Cooper Sg 2027

After flying high against Caldwell last Tuesday, La Grange came back down to earth. The La Grange Leopards fell just short of the Navasota Rattlers by a score of 54-52 on Friday. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Leopards, who fell 43-41 when the teams last met back in January of 2020.

Despite the defeat, La Grange had strong showings from Campbell Cooper Sg 2027, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Kylie Trlicek, who posted 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. That was a full 36.5% of La Grange's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Macie Collier, who earned five points.

With the loss, La Grange broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-10. As for Navasota, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-10.

La Grange will square off against Smithville at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smithville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something La Grange surely won't give up without a fight. Navasota has already played their next contest, a 59-15 win against Giddings on the 20th.
