Baseball Recap: Santa Teresa Takes a Loss

Santa Teresa had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-11 to make it seven. They came up short against the Leigh Longhorns, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Santa Teresa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Cedillo, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Leigh, their record is now 17-4. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Leigh's side, Marcus Glanville spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Jeong, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Michael Mogannam was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

While Santa Teresa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
